Moon Valley by trufi, cable car or taxi \u2014 step by step<\/h2>\n

Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley)<\/strong> is easy to visit on your own from La Paz.<\/p>\n

The difficult part is deciding how to get there<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The cable car does not reach Moon Valley directly, and local minibuses and trufis can be confusing if you’ve never used public transport in La Paz before.<\/p>\n

So we checked the routes ourselves.<\/p>\n

There are three good options:<\/p>\n

This is the cheapest option and the most interesting if you want to try the type of shared transport people use every day in La Paz.<\/p>\n

Plaza San Francisco \u2192 Obelisco \u2192 Plaza Belzu \u2192 trufi to Mallasa \u2192 Valle de la Luna<\/strong><\/p>\n

depending on walking, waiting time and traffic.<\/p>\n

Step 1 \u2014 Start at Plaza San Francisco<\/h2>\n

Start in front of San Francisco Church<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 2 \u2014 Walk Toward the Purple Cable Car<\/h2>\n

The nearest Purple Line station is:<\/p>\n

For this route, the Purple Cable Car is only an easy landmark.<\/p>\n

You’re walking past it to reach the transport toward Mallasa.<\/p>\n

Step 3 \u2014 Continue Toward Plaza Belzu<\/h2>\n

From the Purple Cable Car area, continue uphill toward Plaza Belzu \/ Callej\u00f3n Belzu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Near Plaza Belzu, look for shared vehicles travelling toward Mallasa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Don’t rely only on a route number.<\/p>\n

Look at the windshield.<\/h3>\n

You may not see a conventional bus stop.<\/p>\n

Stand visibly beside the road.<\/p>\n

When you see the correct vehicle approaching:<\/p>\n
