about Alpaca Steps
Alpaca Steps didn’t start as a business.
It started as a response. — to be a bridge between travelers and the people who don’t always have a voice, but who are the real heart of this city.
In many cases, culture is presented in a simplified way that doesn’t fully reflect the reality behind it.
We believe there is another way.
Through Alpaca Steps, we focus on real life — how people live, work, and build their lives every day. Not just the places, but the people behind them.
As someone from La Paz, I wanted to share the side of the city that I grew up seeing — not just what is shown to visitors.
We also believe tourism can have a more direct and meaningful impact.
That’s why we work closely with local vendors and small businesses, making sure that your visit supports them in a real and tangible way.
Because once you understand the people,
you don’t just visit the place — you see it differently.
